DIOWave Visual Storage is a Web based image display system for medical imaging (DICOM); an ultimately low cost PACS solution for small to large clinical sites. A user can find and see clinical images by using web browsers with image processing capabilities such as zooming and W/L changing. It doesn't require any plugins and supports various browsers such as Internet Explorer, Netscape and Mozilla. It runs on W2K Server using ASP.NET.

• .NET Framework (runtime) is required
• MDAC 2.6 (or later) is required

• Internet Explorer 4.0 and later
• Netscape Navigator 4.7 later (includes 6 and 7)

• Opera Browser 7 (by setting as File/Preferences/Network/Browser identification ="Identify as MSIE6")

1. Unzip the binary distribution into C:\, you'll get a couple of new directories, "DIOWave" and "DIOWaveData".
2. Register and run DICOM SCP Service

          C:\DIOWave\bin> dio-storage -install
          C:\DIOWave\bin> net start dio_storage
         
   

3. Launch the Internet Information Service Manager and make virtual directories(screen shots).

          /DIOWave = C:\DIOWave\wwwroot
                   (Read document)
          /DIOWave/scripts = C:\DIOWave\scripts
                   (Executable for ISAPI)
          /DIOWave/StudyBrowesr.NET = C:\DIOWave\webapp\StudyBrowser.NET
                   (Executable for scripts)
   

4. * for Windows XP or Windows Server 2003:

   Setup access privilge of the IIS process on the DIOWaveData folder where DICOM images are stored.

   1. Open the property sheet of C:\DIOWaveData, then select Security tab. (1)
   2. Add ASPNET user (NETWORK SERVICE in case of Windows Server 2003) to the Group and Users list control.(2)
   3. Give Modify access right.(3)
5. Receive images from DICOM systems (Modality, PACS server, workstations).

6. Open a URL of http://(servername)/DIOWave/StudyBrowser.NET with your favorite browser.
